ITALIA FRANCESCANA, L'. — Quarterly journal of Franciscan culture, founded in 1926 and directed by Fr. Ottavio da Alatri, Capuchin (d. 25 September 1943); it was continued by the friars of the Roman province.
It publishes articles of historical, doctrinal, and literary research, as well as articles for the general reader, concerning Franciscanism, especially in Italy. At the end of the twenty-year period (vol. 20 [1945]), the General Indexes (1926–45; Rome 1946) were published separately. In that year, a second series of bimonthly issues was begun. In 1950, responsibility for the journal passed to the National Center of the Third Order of the Friars Minor Capuchin, in Rome, and the journal also began to be addressed to the groups of the «Amici di s.
