LABREA. – Prelature nullius in the State of Amazonas in Brazil.
It has an area of 201,506 sq. km. and 44,960 inhabitants, of whom 38,257 are Catholics; it has 3 parishes, 6 regular priests, and 3 male religious communities.
The prelature was created by Pope Pius XI by the apostolic constitution Imprescriptibili Dei consilio of 1 May 1925, through the dismemberment of the Diocese of Amazonas, and as a suffragan of Belem de Pará.
