LABREA. – Prelature nullius in the State of Amazonas in Brazil.
It has an area of 201,506 sq. km. with 44,960 inhabitants, of whom 38,257 are Catholic; it comprises 3 parishes, 6 regular priests, and 3 male religious communities.
The prelature was created by Pope Pius XI with the apostolic constitution Imperscrutabili Dei consilio of 1 May 1925, by separation from the diocese of Amazonas, and as suffragan of Belém do Pará.
