LEPRIGNANO, CIMITERO CRISTIANO DI

LEPRIGNANO, CHRISTIAN CEMETERY OF. - In December 1911, in the ancient Capenate territory (Rome), today called Capena, at the locality Monte della Casetta, some cemetery galleries with tombs still intact came to light.

One of these preserves, scratched on the lime, the inscription of a certain Evangelia with the consular date of Leontius and Sallustius (year 344). In an arcosolium an inscription was likewise scratched, in which one was entreated not to open the tomb. Two marble inscriptions referred, the one to the year 345 and the other, with the monogram 5, to a presbyter named Martius Firmissimus; in a tomb near the head of the deceased a glass ampulla was found.
