MASCHAT, REMIGIO da Sant'Erasmo. — Canonist of Bohemia, b. 1692, d. 1747. A Scolopian, he served as the Order’s preceptor general.
Highly skilled also in music, he taught canon law and theology. In 1735 he published at Znaim a Cursus iuris civilis et canonici, composed in concise style and solid doctrine, which met with great success; after the first edition was exhausted, Ubaldo Giraldi prepared a new one under the title Institutiones canonicae (Ferrara 1760).
