MONTERANO. — Ancient diocese (Manturia) west of Lake Bracciano beneath Monte Angiano.
It appears only in 649, and L. Duchesne considered it to have succeeded that of Forum Clodii and then, in turn, to have been incorporated into that of Sutri (Lib. Pont., I, 483). Of ancient M. only a few ruins remain, since it has been uninhabited since the beginning of the nineteenth century.
