PESIQTHA'. — Title of midhrāshic works (v. MIDHRĀSH) of a homiletic character. The P. dè-rabbī Kahana, previously known only from fragmentary citations, was edited by S. Buber, Lyck 1868 (German translation by Wünsche, Leipzig 1885). It is a collection of homilies for various feasts and Sabbaths. Both its original date and the order of succession of its chapters are matters of discussion.

Similar in content, but with a different sequence of chapters, is the collection P. rabblathi (v. GRADO), edited by Friedmann, Vienna 1880.
