PĒSIQTHĀ'. - Title of midrashic works (v. MIDHRĀŠ) of a homiletic character. The P. dē-rabh Kahanā', first known only from fragmentary citations, was edited by S. Buber, Lyck 1868 (German translation by Wünsche, Leipzig 1885). It is a collection of homilies for various feasts and Sabbaths. Both its date of origin and the order of succession of the chapters are debated.

Similar in content, but with a different succession of chapters, is the collection P. rabbathī ("P. the Great"), ed. Friedmann, Vienna 1880.
