Probinus, Roman Senator

PROBINO, SENATORE ROMANO

PROBINUS, Roman Senator. - Consul in 489, he was, together with Festus (v.), at the head of the opposition against Pope Symmachus. He received praise from Ennodius of Pavia (Opusc., VI: PL 63, 254), but his conduct against Symmachus obliges many reservations. The year of his death is unknown.
