RELIGIOUS OF THE HOLY UNION OF THE SACRED HEARTS. – Congregation founded at Douai (Cambrai) in 1828 by the priest G. B. de Brabant.

Purpose: the Christian education of young people through primary and secondary schools, with particular attention to the children of workers and to orphan girls. Since 1931 they have been engaged in missionary activities in French Cameroon. The Congregation received the decree of praise on 30 May and definitive approval of the Constitutions on 17 June 1898. These were revised in 1925 in accordance with the CIC. Today there are 1,424 sisters in 100 houses.
