RELIGIOSE DI NOSTRA SIGNORA DEL RITIRO DEL CENACOLO

RELIGIOUS OF OUR LADY OF THE RETREAT OF THE UPPER ROOM. — They were founded in 1826 at La Louvesse (Ardèche) near the tomb of St. Fr. Regis by Fr. Stefano Terme and the Blessed Maria Vittoria Teresa Couderc.

The specific purpose was above all the continuous adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament; at the same time the sisters were to prepare young girls for their First Communion and organize spiritual exercises for women. The Institute received the decree of praise on 10 March 1863 and final approval on 18 March 1870. At present it has 4 provinces with 44 houses and 1,250 sisters.

RELIGIOUS OF SAINT JULIANA, APOSTOLINES OF THE MOST BLESSED SACRAMENT. — Founded at Malines in 1856 by Fanny Kestre for the perpetual adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament and to promote its devotion among the faithful.

It is divided into two classes of sisters: choir sisters and lay sisters. The Holy See granted the decree of praise in 1875, temporary approval of the Constitutions in 1906 and definitive approval on 3 February 1926. At present the Institute has 5 houses with 60 sisters.
