RESPONSABILITÀ DEL SAPERE. - A review published in Rome under the auspices of the « Centro internazionale di comparazione e sintesi », founded and directed by Mons. Maurizio Raffa. It has been in existence for six years and counts among its contributors the most distinguished representatives of every branch of knowledge.
Each issue offers essential contributions for the various disciplines, prepared by specialists and integrated in the meetings of the Centre through the method of scientific comparison. It also reports upon and comments on the most significant productions in the field of culture.
The Centre and the review aim: (a) to bring together, in fraternal collaboration, the representatives of the various branches of knowledge and to form the regular reader in a unified vision of the whole of reality; (b) to seek the presuppositions and lay the foundations for a cultural synthesis suited to the needs of modern times; (c) in the study of concrete problems, to pursue closer collaboration among the fundamental disciplines—science, philosophy, theology—in order to contribute to the spiritual orientation of knowledge; (d) with a clear openness of mind, to encourage every initiative of progress and to enhance the genuine achievements of science and thought; (e) to revive the sense of responsibility imposed by culture, insofar as it is the necessary guide of peoples toward the highest ideals; (f) to engage the authentic aristocracy of contemporary thought in seeking out and identifying the most promising young minds, in order to prepare them, through contact with exemplary masters, to become « sure guides » for coming generations, the pioneers to whom the torch of civilization may be entrusted.
