SCHNEIDER, EMILIE. – Of the Congregation of the Daughters of the Holy Cross, in the world Giulia, born at Haaren (near Aquisgrana) on 6 September 1820, died at Düsseldorf on 21 March 1859.
She entered the Congregation at Liège in 1845 and in 1851 was elected the first novice mistress at the house of Aspel; then, in 1852, superior at Düsseldorf, where, overcoming serious difficulties, she so to speak transformed the community. She was also favored with particular mystical graces, especially concerning devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The ordinary processes were initiated in 1934.
