SCHNEIDER, EMILIE. - Of the Congregation of the Daughters of the Holy Cross, in religion Sister Giulia, born at Haaren (near Aachen) on 6 Sept. 1820, died at Düsseldorf on 21 March 1859.
She entered the Congregation at Liège in 1845, and in 1851 was elected first mistress of novices at the house of Aspel; then in 1852 she became superior at Düsseldorf, where, overcoming great difficulties, she virtually transformed the community. She was also favoured with particular mystical graces, especially in devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Ordinary processes were begun in 1934.
