SIMON THE ZEALOT. - A Christian who for many days offered hospitality to St. Peter in his own house in Joppa or Jaffa (Acts 9:43).

There St. Peter had the symbolic vision of the sheet filled with every kind of animal and received the messengers of the centurion Cornelius (ibid. 10:1-23). Even today the traditional site of his house is shown to pilgrims.
