SIMONE, BROTHER OF THE LORD. — One of the four listed by the Nazarenes (along with Giacomo, Giuseppe [Iosè], and Giuda) as the “brothers of Jesus” (v.) in Mt. 13:55 and Mk. 6:3, in the Semitic sense of “cousins.”
