Elected Provincial of England, he was deposed for insubordination and sent to Cologne as a lecturer (1261–62) in place of St Albert the Great, who had been elected Bishop of Ratisbon; he was soon rehabilitated (1262).
His principal works are: Postilla on the Minor Prophets (Oxford, New Coll. 45, no. 211 ff.) and Quaestiones disputatae (manuscript in the Summa Abendonensis, British Museum); Ad instructionem iuniorum, published in 1606 in the Opera omnia of G. Gerson. It is a manual of practical theology that enjoyed great diffusion in the 14th–15th centuries.
