Fishacre, Richard

FISHACRE, RICHARD. - Dominican theologian, d. 1248. He was the second master of his Order at Oxford and the first English Dominican to compose a commentary on the Sentences of Peter Lombard (unpublished).

Doctrinally he is still a representative of traditional Augustinianism, yet he shows some sympathy for Aristotelianism. Also known by him are: Tractatus de haeresibus; Quaestio disputata de successione Christi; Sermones (all unpublished, except for a few passages occasionally cited in scholastic literature).
