APOSTOLIC MEN. - According to a legend that appeared for the first time toward the end of the 8th century, they are: Torquatus, Tisiphontes, Indaletius, Secundus, Euphrasius, Caecilius and Hesychius, who would have been consecrated bishops by the apostles Peter and Paul and sent to Spain to preach the Gospel there.

Later they would have scattered to various cities, where they brought about many conversions. The legend is evidently unacceptable; nevertheless their names are found in ancient calendars or collections of relics. According to Delehaye, they would be authentic bishops of the various cities to which they are individually attributed, who lived in an uncertain age but certainly not an apostolic one. They are commemorated on May 15.
