ANALECTA MONTSERRATIANA. - Annual publication in the Catalan language, begun in 1917, with the aim of making known the life and vicissitudes of the famous Benedictine monastery of Montserrat, so deserving of Catalan religious, civil, literary and artistic history and culture, indeed of the whole of Spain; as well as of the other Benedictine monasteries that have had relations with it.
The monographic studies, which form the most important part and the one of greatest help to scholars and deal with the library, the archive, the documents preserved (codices, manuscripts, choir books, early printed works), and the literary, musical and artistic works, are followed by the annual chronicles, which set out the various activities of the monastery carried on in the religious sphere (worship and pilgrimages), art and culture.
