Handmaids Of Charity

SISTERS OF CHARITY. – Religious institute founded in Brescia by Blessed Maria Crocifissa Di Rosa in 1840 for the instruction and education of young people in schools and for the assistance of working women, women in danger, orphans, and the sick in hospitals.

It is divided into 6 religious provinces and has 300 houses

with more than 4,000 sisters. It was approved by the Holy See in 1921.
