Italian Catholic Yearbook

ITALIAN CATHOLIC YEARBOOK. - Annual series published in Rome from 1922 to 1938 (a single volume covers the years 1936 and 1937). The initiative was undertaken by the Secretariat of Culture of the "Unione popolare tra i cattolici d'Italia"; once this was dissolved in the same year 1922, the publication was taken up for 1923 and 1924 by the "Giunta dell'Azione cattolica italiana" which succeeded it; and finally continued from 1925 to the end, through the work of the "Comitato Fides romana". Egilberto Martire always remained general editor of the A. (until 1926, together with Silvio D'Amico and Corrado Mezzana). The publication, which bore the subtitle: "piccola enciclopedia della vita religiosa delle diocesi d'Italia e dell'organizzazione cattolica", contains, in addition to the sections devoted to the hierarchy and to Catholic Action, chronicles, biographies and various writings illustrating the religious movement, Catholic culture and art, and the political-religious events of the nation, with particular regard to the missions of the Italian colonies.
