FIDES. - Monthly magazine of the "Pontifical Work for the Preservation of the Faith in Rome". Founded in 1900, when the proselytism of the various Protestant sects was becoming manifestly evident in the very center of Catholicism, it carried out active work in denouncing to the faithful the insidious action of the adversary, especially in the scholastic and charitable fields. From 1929, under the direction of Igino Giordani, the magazine underwent a notable development and became a combative organ for the defense of the faith and of Catholic principles, which were being undermined in various parts of Italy by attempts at Protestant penetration.
