FIDES. – Monthly journal of the “Pontifical Work for the Preservation of the Faith in Rome.” Founded in 1900, when the proselytizing activity of the various Protestant sects was becoming clearly evident in the very center of Catholicism, it actively denounced the insidious actions of its opponents to the faithful, especially in the fields of education and welfare. From 1929, under the direction of Igino Giordani, the journal experienced considerable growth and became a combative organ defending the faith and Catholic principles, which were threatened in various parts of Italy by attempts to establish Protestantism.
