IL FRONTESPIZIO
Monthly review founded in Florence in 1929 by Piero Bargellini, under the auspices of Giovanni Papini. It was one of the most refined, lively, and up-to-date journals and constituted a brilliant affirmation of Catholic thought in the Italian literary and artistic field. Among its contributors, besides Papini, were numerous Catholic writers, including Francesco Casnati, Igino Giordani, Domenico Giulotti, Guido Manacorda, Ardengo Soffici, etc., as well as various novelists (among them Nicola Lisi) and the group of the "hermetics." It ceased publication at the end of 1940.
