Ibero-American Archive

ARCHIVO IBERO-AMERICANO. – Historical periodical, now published quarterly, of the Friars Minor of the Iberian Peninsula, issued in Madrid since 1914. Particularly noteworthy for their importance are its contributions on the American and Eastern missions. It contains abundant unpublished documentation drawn from the archives, especially from the «General de Indias» in Seville. The journal was interrupted in 1936, when the college named after Cardinal Cisneros, built expressly to house it in 1924, was burned down with its rich library during the civil war. Publication resumed in 1941 as segunda epoca.
