His fame is tied to the *Fiorita d'Italia*, a history of the human race from the creation of the world to the death of Pompey, composed partly in prose and partly in verse in 1325. The material is drawn from ancient and medieval writers; mention is sometimes made of the *Divina Commedia*. Interspersed in the narrative are moral reflections, in prose and verse, delivered by the allegorical figure of Poetry.
