ARMILUSTRIO (Armilustrium). – Festival of the most ancient Roman calendar, falling on 19 October. The name defines it as a festival for the purification of weapons; the sodality of the Salii took part in II. The festival, which, in its connection with that of 15 October (equus october), has a precise correspondence with the festive cycle of the month of March (14 March: Equirria; 19 March: Quinquatrus), belongs to the Roman public cult of Mars.
