ARNOLDO, abbot of LUBECCA. — German chronicler, who lived in the 12th century and was still alive in 1212. After spending some time in Brunswick, in 1177 he became abbot of the Benedictine monastery of Lübeck. He wrote, in seven books, the continuation of Helmold’s Chronicle, which narrates events from 1171 to 1209. However, the information he provided is not very reliable. The *Chronica Slavorum Arnoldi*, which follows Helmold’s, is edited by G. H. Pertz in MGH, *Scriptores XXI*, pp. 100-250.
