ATTANASIO, ENRICO

ATTANasio, ENRICO. — Priest, orator, and writer, b. in Naples in 1831, d. there in 1903. A fellow student and adherent of Fr. Capecelatro, friend of Fr. Ludovico da Casoria, who appointed him headmaster of the Collegio della Carità, he was co-editor with Capecelatro of the journal *La Carità*, published by Fr. Ludovico. Cardinal Sanfelice entrusted him with the oversight of the Neapolitan Association of Catholic Charity (1888), and in his later years made him a canon and prefect of studies at the archiepiscopal lyceum. His lectures on the papacy, delivered at the Gesù Nuovo, were published posthumously by Fr. Maresca dei Bigi (Naples 1903). Filiberto Martire
