Athanasius, Enrico

ATTANASIO, ENRICO. — Priest, orator, and writer, born in Naples in 1831, died there in 1903. A fellow student and kindred spirit of Fr. Capecelatro, and a friend of Fr. Ludovico da Casoria, who appointed him head of the Carità college, he served with Capecelatro as editor of the journal La Carità, published by Fr. Ludovico. Cardinal Sanfelice entrusted him with the spiritual care of the Neapolitan Association of Catholic Charity (1888), and in his final years wished him to serve as canon and prefect of studies at the archiepiscopal lyceum. His lectures on the papacy, delivered at the «Gesù nuovo», were published posthumously, edited by Fr. Maresca dei Bigi (Naples 1903).
