BERNARDINO DE PLANES

BERNARDINO de Planes. - Prior of the Carthusian monastery of Montalegre, near Barcelona, d. 1694.

He wrote several ascetical works, among which the *Concordancia Mistica* (Barcelona 1669), in which he treats at length of the purgative, illuminative, and unitive life, and demonstrates that the mystical doctrine of St Teresa of Avila is in conformity with the doctrine of the Holy Fathers and the doctors of the spiritual life.
