BERNARDINO DE PLANES

BERNARDINO de PLANES. — Prior of the Charterhouse of Montalegre, near Barcelona, died in 1694.

He wrote several ascetical works, among them Concordancia Mistica, Barcelona 1669, in which he discusses at length the purgative, illuminative, and unitive ways, and demonstrates that the mystical doctrine of s. Teresa d'Avila conforms to the teaching of the Holy Fathers and of the doctors of the spiritual life.
