CRITICAL BULLETIN. – The first issue appeared in Paris on 15 May 1880, following the *Echo*. Its programme was to publish, from a Catholic standpoint rather than the rationalist stance of the *Revue critique*, a series of scholarly reviews of the most notable publications in literature, history and theology, with numerous references for the scholar distant from literary centres, while also offering original contributions. It had an editorial committee including A. Baudrillart, E. Beurlier, L. Duchesne, one of the principal contributors, A. Ingold, L. Lescœur, F. Plessis, P. Scheil, H. Thedenat. It ceased publication in 1908.
