CAJAL, SANTIAGO RAMÓN y. – Spanish anatomopathologist and histologist, born in Petilla de Aragón in 1852, died in 1934, known for the histological techniques he introduced into the examination of the nervous system. Nobel Prize 1906. He also dealt with certain general questions. Religiously agnostic, he should be remembered for the critical sense with which, in the course of his studies, he recognized the total insufficiency of evolutionary theories.
