CARAZZI, DAVIDE. – Zoologist and embryologist, b. at Sambonifacio (Verona) on 27 January 1858, d. at Florence on 18 January 1923.
His critical stance toward the theory of evolution is of particular interest, especially as expressed in the introductory lectures Teoria e critiche della moderna biologia (Padua 1906) and Il dogma dell'evoluzione (Florence 1919). The Rassegna di Scienze biologiche, which he directed (1918–22), was likewise inspired by this attitude.
