CALUSCO, TADDEO. – Preacher and biblical scholar, born in Milan in the second half of the 17th century, died there on 21 April 1720. He became an Augustinian in the convent of S. Marco in his native city. He gained a reputation as an able preacher and learned Scripture scholar. In his Order and in the service of the Milanese archbishop, Cardinal Archinto, he held various offices. He never, however, abandoned his studies.
In addition to speeches and panegyrics left in manuscript, among his printed works special mention should be made of: Varie notizie per facilitare l'intelligenza e lo studio della S. Scrittura (Milan 1708); Esame della religione protestante o sia pretesa riformata (Venice 1720).
