CANTATORIUM

CANTATORIUM. — In the Roman liturgy, this was the book containing the chant of the gradual. We have evidence of it in the Ordo romanus I, where we read: “After the subdeacon has read the Epistle, the cantor ascends with the cantatorium and sings the responsory.” V. ANTIFONARIO; GRADUALE; RESPONSORIALE.
