CAESARIUS of Nazianzus, St. — Lived in Cappadocia in the 4th century, brother of St. Gregory, the younger of the family, born in Arianzus in 330; from 361 to 368 he was a physician at the court of Constantinople under Constantius, Julian the Apostate, and Valens. In 368 he was miraculously saved from the earthquake at Nicaea, and only then did he decide to receive baptism and renounce the world. He died shortly afterwards. However, the Four Dialogues attributed to him in PG 38, 851-1190 are not his.
