CORAZZINI, SERGIO. - Poet, b. in Rome on 6 Feb. 1886, d. there on 18 June 1907. The same friends who comforted him during his life, after his death edited the edition of the Liriche (see the definitive collection edited by F. M. Martini, Naples 1935).

These friends were active in the cenacle of Cronache latine (1905-1906), a journal attuned to that disconsolate and desolate sentiment that was later defined as crepuscular. C. wanders through a poetry of melancholic inspiration that reflects motifs of Pascoli and D'Annunzio and even more of Verlaine, Laforgue, Samain, Jammes, Maeterlinck. Certain motifs of faith are sometimes present in him in the Liriche, especially in those such as Dolore, Cappella in campagna, motifs that nevertheless fail to resolve his anxious search for a peace and a religious certainty.
