CORENZIO, BELISARIO. - A painter of Greek origin, born in Acaia in the province of Lecce around 1560 and died after 1640. He seems to have studied with Tintoretto, whose style he effectively imitates in his works. He was very active in Naples; among his works are remembered, among others, the lost frescoes of the vault in S. Paolo Maggiore, those in Gesù Nuovo, in S. Patrizio, in S. Martino, at the Annunziata, and those of the destroyed abbey of Montecassino.
