CORENZIO, BELISARIO. — Painter of Greek origin, born in Acaia in the province of Lecce around 1560 and died after 1640. He seems to have studied under Tintoretto, whom he in fact imitates in his works. He was very active in Naples; among his works are the lost frescoes of the vault in S. Paolo Maggiore, those in the Gesù Nuovo, in S. Patrizio, in S. Martino, at the Annunziata, and those of the destroyed abbey of Montecassino.
