CUNHA, RODRIGO da. — Portuguese historian, bishop of Portalegre (1615) and Oporto (1619), and finally archbishop of Braga (1623) and Lisbon (1636). Born in Lisbon in 1577, died there in 1643. After the revolution of 1640, he served as governor of the kingdom until the arrival of the Braganzas.
