DELISLE, LÉOPOLD-VICTOR. - Historian, b. at Valognes, 24 Oct. 1826, d. at Chantilly, 22 July 1910. Having entered the École des Chartes in 1847, he was entrusted in 1852, at the Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris, with the care of the Cabinet des manuscrits, which he described in a work in 3 vols., published in Paris from 1868 to 1881 (Cabinet des manuscrits de la Bibliothèque Impériale).
He was responsible for several catalogues and bibliographical bulletins, which earned him the title of prince of biblio-
