DIEKAMP, FRANZ. - Theologian, b. at Geldern (Rhineland) on 8 Nov. 1864, ordained priest in 1887, from 1902 professor of dogmatic theology at Münster (Westphalia), d. in 1943.

Author of: Die Gotteslehre des hl. Gregor von Nyssa (Münster 1896); Hippolytos von Theben (ibid. 1898); Die originistischen Streitigkeiten im 6. Jahrh. (ibid. 1899); Doctrina Patrum de Incarnatione Verbi (ibid. 1907); Patres apostolici (ed. F. X. Funk, II, 2, Tübingen 1913); Katholische Dogmatik nach den Grundsätzen des hl. Thomas V. A. (3 vols., 9th-10th eds., Münster 1942). Latin translation: Theologiae dogmaticae manuale (4 vols., ibid. 1932-1933). Founder and editor of the journal: Theologische Revue (Münster 1902 ff.). D. was one of the foremost authorities on the history of dogma in the ancient Church.
