DIEKAMP, FRANZ. – Theologian, born at Geldern (Rhineland) on 18 Nov. 1864, ordained priest in 1887, professor of dogmatic theology at Münster (Westphalia) from 1902, died in 1943.
Author of: *Die Gotteslehre des hl. Gregor von Nyssa* (Münster 1896); *Hippolytos von Theben* (ibid. 1898); *Die originistischen Streitigkeiten im 6. Jahrh.* (ibid. 1899); *Doctrina Patrum de Incarnatione Verbi* (ibid. 1907); *Patres apostolici* (ed. F. X. Funk, II, 2, Tübingen 1913); *Katholische Dogmatik nach den Grundsätzen des hl. Thomas V. A.* (3 vols., 9th–10th edd., Münster 1942). Latin translation: *Theologia dogmatica manuale* (4 vols., ibid. 1932–1933). Founder and editor of the journal: *Theologische Revue* (Münster 1902 ff.). D. was one of the best-informed scholars on the history of dogma in the early Church.

**DIENK**
AMP, WILHELM. – Historian, born at Geldern on 13 May 1854, died at Rome on 25 Dec. 1885. After completing his theological and historical studies with outstanding success, he began his career with *Widukind, der Sachsenführer nach Geschichte und Sagen* (Münster in Westphalia 1877).
Several of his dissertations published in periodicals led to his appointment to continue the collection *Die Geschäftsquellen des Bistums Münster*, begun by Fiker, Cornelius, and Janssen; he did so by publishing vol. IV of the series: *Vita s. Lütgeri* (ibid. 1881). He also contributed a supplementary fascicle (ibid. 1885) to the series *Westphälisches Urkundenbuch*, initiated by Wilmans and W. E. Giefers. Introduced to papal diplomatics, he contributed excellent dissertations to the journals *Historisches Jahrbuch* (4 [1883], pp. 210 ff.) and *Mitteilungen des Instituts für Österreichische Geschichtsforschung* (3 [1882], pp. 565 ff.; 4 [1883], pp. 497 ff.; 5 [1884], pp. 141 ff., 622 ff.).
