FINA (SERAFINA), saints. — Virgin, born at S. Gimignano (Tuscany) in 1238 to Cambio and Imperia; she lived in the world as a model of modesty and piety, charity and industriousness, mortification and patience amid the very grave illnesses that afflicted her. She died on 12 March 1253, on the feast of St Gregory the Pope, as had been revealed to her, and was buried in the church of S. Gimignano.
