FIORENTINI, FRANCESCO MARIA. — Physician from Lucca, died in 1673.
Passionate about historical studies, he produced an edition of the Martyrologium Hieronymianum according to the manuscript codices of Lucca (Lucca 1668), which he believed to be the original text of St. Gerolamo, but which is instead one of the recensions closest to it known to us. Another work, De non pami fermentati et nami (Lucca 1680), dedicated to Cardinal Bona, is of little importance.
