FRANCIOTTI, CESARE, venerable. – Theologian and preacher, born in Lucca on 3 July 1557, died there on 9 December 1627. Together with the venerable G. B. Cioni, he assisted St. Giovanni Leonardi in the foundation of the Order of Clerics Regular of the Mother of God.
Of his published works, the most important is: Pratiche di meditazione per avanti e dopo la S. Comunione, which had 16 reprintings in Venice alone during the seventeenth century. He published another noteworthy work: Apparecchio al sacro Conscio.
