Gemara'

GEMÄRÄ'. – A masculine Aramaic word meaning “completion of the teaching.” Generally, however, one says “the g.,” as though it were a Hebrew feminine noun. Today, g. usually denotes the discussion found in the Talmud concerning the text of the Mišnah.
