YOUTH OF ITALY. - A journal published under the auspices of the Italian Catholic Action Youth from May 1912 — when it took over from *La Parola*, a monthly review founded at the initiative of the Dante Alighieri student circle in Rome — until May 1943. It contains, besides more than 40 articles of an informative nature, the official acts of the Catholic Youth organization and a chronicle of its activities.
From 1914 onwards it assumed the title *Review of the Society of Italian Catholic Youth*. During the period 1915–18 it published, in addition, a weekly sheet entitled *While the Fighting Continues* and, from 3 December 1918 to 25 May 1919, *After the Victory*. From January 1923, with a new typographical format, it took the title *Official Monthly Illustrated Review of the Society of Italian Catholic Youth*. Suspended from June 1931 to the end of 1932, it then split into *Bulletin for Leaders* and *Monthly Cultural Review*. It was again suspended at the end of 1939 by the Ministry of Popular Culture, but resumed in May 1940, absorbing into a single publication the monthly *Technique*, the review of the diocesan leaders of Catholic Youth, and dealing also with organizational themes, educational problems, etc. During 1940 *Youth of Italy* published a series of booklets, among which particular mention should be made of *The Nineteenth Century*, *Itineraries* and *Rome*. In 1941 it reverted to being solely a cultural review, while technical discussions were handled by *Apostolate*. With issue no. 8 of December 1942 it became the organ of the 75th anniversary of the Society of Italian Catholic Youth, with the programme of publishing historical documents, recollections of the past and archival and bibliographical notes for reconstructing the history of Italian Catholic Youth.
