Gorgonia, Saint

GORGONIA, saint. — Sister of s. Gregorio Nazianzeno, who commemorated her in a famous funeral eulogy; she died around 370, still young, after her husband and five children. She is commemorated in the Martyr. Romanum on 9 December, but the actual day of her death is unknown, nor does it seem that she died at Nazianzus.
