GUÉRIN, CHARLES. – French poet, born in Lunéville on 29 December 1873, died there on 17 March 1907.
His first collections of verse, Fleurs de neige (1893); Joies grises (1894); Le sang des crépuscules (1895), reflect the influence of Symbolism. His personality asserted itself with Le coeur solitaire (1898), Le semeur de cendres (1901), and L'homme intérieur (1905), works that reveal his most intimate feelings and the long inner struggle that raised him from skepticism to faith.
