HAMMELIN OF VERULAMIUM. – Benedictine, died c. 1093, was a disciple of the Bl. Lanfranc and prior (c. 1093) of the abbey of St Albans (Hertfordshire, England).
He wrote a short work *De monachatu*, in which he sets out many monastic customs; a small part of it was published by E. Martène and U. Durand in *Thesaurus novus anedoctorum*, V, Paris 1717, cols. 1453–56, extracted from a Bigot manuscript.
