LAMBERTO (LAMPRECHT) OF RATISBONA (REGENSBURG). - A Franciscan mystical poet of the 13th century, about whom nothing is known apart from his works.
Still a layman, but associating with the Friars Minor of Ratisbona (he mentions among others Bertoldo [v.] of Ratisbona and John the Englishman), he composed in German verse shortly after 1237 a life of St. Francis: *Sanct Francisci Leben*, following the first life of the Saint written in 1228–29 by Thomas of Celano. Having then entered the Order, he wrote around 1250, also in verse, *Tochter Syon*, following a Latin treatise of the same title *Filia Sion*, as well as the teachings of his provincial minister Gerard. It is an allegorical work on the soul (*filia Sion*), yearning for Heaven. Both works were published by K. Weinhold, *Lamprecht von Regensburg.
