PIOUS DAUGHTERS OF MARY MOST HOLY. - On the eve of Corpus Christi in 1829 (19 June), Caterina Molinari (later Sister Maria Vittoria Crocifissa) gathered with three other companions in the ancient Dominican convent of Sestri Levante and founded the Institute of the M. P. of the Presentation of Mary Most Holy. Nine years later the diocesan Ordinary approved its constitutions.

The sisters devote themselves to the teaching of girls. At first they took only annual vows, but in the new Constitutions the vows have become perpetual.

In 1948 the sisters numbered 250, distributed among 20 houses.
