MARZAGAGLIA, GAETANO. - Priest, b. at Chiampo Vicentino on 8 Aug. 1716, d. at Verona on 1 July 1787. For several years he taught geometry at the Royal Military College of Verona. Having then embraced the ecclesiastical career, he became rector of the Seminary of Verona and finally parish priest of S. Egidio.
He made the work of Cristiano Wolf known through the celebrated Verona edition of Ramanzini, which he annotated with interesting and extensive notes. He published: a collection of mathematical subjects and various ascetical pamphlets; but his most important work, in which the author shows himself a learned and assured theologian, is the Euchiridion mysticum pro directioribus animarum (Verona 1766), which may still be called a valuable aid to the formation of capable directors of souls.
