MEDA, FELICE (Felix), blessed. — Poor Clare, born in Milan around 1378, died in Pesaro on 30 September 1444. She made rapid progress in piety and studies, also learning the Latin language. After her parents’ death, at the age of 10 she made a vow of chastity, and in 1400 entered the Poor Clares of S. Orsola in Milan. She was tested by horrible temptations and diabolical persecutions. Elected abbess in 1425, in 1439 she went to Pesaro to establish a new monastery, where she died renowned for the gift of miracles. On 14 September 1808, Pius VII granted the Mass and Office of the blessed.
