MEDA, FELICE (FELIX), BEATA

MEDA, Felice (Felix), Blessed. - Poor Clare, born in Milan ca. 1378, died in Pesaro on 30 September 1444. She made rapid progress in piety and in studies, also learning the Latin language. After her parents died, at the age of 10 she took a vow of chastity and in 1400 entered the Poor Clares of St. Ursula in Milan. She was tried by horrible temptations and diabolical persecutions. Elected abbess in 1425, in 1439 she moved to Pesaro for the foundation of a new monastery, where she died illustrious for the gift of miracles. Pius VII, on 14 September 1808, granted Mass and Office of the blessed.
